Highly Recommended! - St Ives Body Lotions

This is just a short post as a lot of my others are really long and rather rambly. These harsh and drying British winters always leave my skin feeling itchy and dry, especially the skin on my back and legs. I've tried dozens of brands over the years, such as Garnier, Vaseline, Boots own brands and The Body Shop, but nothing ever comes close to St Ives and their range of body lotions. When using all the other brands, my legs would be itchy and red and the cream would pretty much have no effect on calming and moisturising my skin. St Ives on the other hand is nothing like that. My skin always stays smooth and happy when I use it! The Body Shop's body butters are also amazing, but are sort of expensive for me as I use body lotion daily. St Ives usually retails at around £4 a bottle, but I've not seen them at Superdrug in a very long time! (Where I usually buy them). I really hope they're not being discontinued TT So whenever I see them at other stores or online, I always stock up. I recently found it at bargain drugstore, Savers, for £2 and bought 4 bottles ^^

There's quite a few choices in the range, there's a firming lotion (I've heard it's discontinued now though ^^"), one for sensitive skin with oats and shea butter and the 24 hour moisture lotion, each with their own specific scent. I'm not very good with naming scents to be honest, but the shea one smells sort of sweet, the 24 hour one smells refreshing and the firming one I really don't know how to describe. I want to say seaweed but I think that comes to mind because the formula contains algae XD

I have tried them all and definitely recommend them with two thumbs up! ^^ They all have a buttery texture that applies really easily without leaving a greasy feeling on your skin, and the smell doesn't last either so won't interfere with what ever perfume you decide to wear ^^

So if you're suffering from winter dryness and nothing has worked for you, give these lotions a go!

  2. hello!
Yeahh these are getting increasingly hard to find! :(
I last saw these at Savers, one of those bargain British drugstores. You can try looking there? Other than that I can't seem to find them elsewhere but Amazon and ebay :(
If I find any I will let you know though ^^

do you have any other recommendations for any other body lotions you like similar to this?

no other brand seems to work on my skin except for this and now that their discontinued it sucks haha!!

    2. I feel for you! This is also the only brand my skin loves unconditionally for some reason XD

However I do like Nivea's refreshingly soft moisturising cream. I use it as a hand cream and on any dry, itchy spots when I'm out and about, it does a pretty good job at moisturising. The texture is similar to St Ives, too. If you try it let me know if you like it ^^

I'll be on the lookout for replacement body lotions now so if I find anything good I'll definitely be writing about it ^^
